Harmony

The newest in computer animation (for me). Not quite CGI, not quite paper, but still pretty dam sweet.

As 2nd years we're being introduced to some of the programs used in the industry. "Toon Boom's Harmony" is what makes a bunch of the TV cartoons and although it can get a bad rap for being stiff, I find it a nice fresh curve on animation.

Heres some of my beginning projects:

ball bounce

Pretty bad I know, but its the first crack at the software

Multi ball bounce

Cannon, tennis and bouncy ball. Hopefully the size difference isnt the only clue.

ball & tail

little exercise in follow through action

Its Drac, and hes HAPPY to see you!

lipsync

Very fun. His mouth seems to flap a bit too much for my taste but I guess thats the nature of the dialogue.

More on the way.

Prop Design

Heres the latest from school : flying vehicles. Complete with a couple beginning thumbnails, more developed roughs and the final (invented) model sheet.

(final design based of #4)

The story 'driving' the design (haha) is a mischievous rebel child with a gift for mechanics.

Lexx has long since abandoned the thought of a standard career oriented life and spends his days scavenging for machine parts, tending to his mechanical creations and mingling with the other members of society's rejected underground.

Torso study

Theres something about anatomy thats fun to figure out, its like a big living bendable puzzle.

And so: the beginnings of my new goal to become well versed in all the intricacies of the human body.

Skip Rope

Latest animation. This one I got pretty pumped for, ended up being a lot of fun.

Little Wendy was feeling the need to do some cardio, and I felt the need to show how it all went down.

Probably one off my better animations to date. Ive realized, its all thanks to just enjoying oneself and finding satisfaction in the struggle.

All in all, gotta say that this art form is THE best invention of all time. Sorry to people with 'real jobs,' but animations got you beat.
